SENCO – Senior Teacher

School: The Mead 

Salary: MPS / UPS + TLR

Are you an experienced SENCO who is looking for a fresh challenge?  If so, then The Mead Academy Trust could be the place for you.  We are seeking to appoint a SENCO who will be a member of the extended Senior Leadership Team. You need to be committed to making a significant impact on our provision by ensuring standards of attainment and achievement are high and where pupils with additional needs make accelerated and sustained progress. A passion for the inclusion agenda as part of the wider SEND provision is essential, alongside knowledge and understanding of working with pupils with a range of needs including complex and social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

As the SENCO, likely to be placed initially at The Mead School, you will co-ordinate the development of SEND teaching and learning within the school and ensure that all legal requirements are  met.  You will lead the inclusion team at that school, which includes teaching assistants, pastoral, parenting and safeguarding roles. You will work closely with outside agencies in order to develop personalised educational plans. Liaison with our parents and carers is an important part of the role as you work towards the best outcomes for our pupils and their families.

The SENCO post will commence in September 2018 and will be a permanent, full-time position.  There is flexibility in the role depending on individual candidates ie 0.6 FTE SENCO up to a Full-time position to include a teaching commitment.

Teaching Assistant

School: Castle Mead 

Salary: Grade D – £16,781 (pro rata) rising to Grade E – £17,772 (pro rata) depending on qualifications and experience

Hours: 28.5 TA plus 2.5 MDSA (8.45am – 3.15pm) Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per year

Complex Needs Resource Base Teacher

School: Castle Mead 

Salary: MPS/UPS with TLR for appropriately experienced/qualified candidate

Hours: 1.0fte, however part time hours will be considered

We are seeking to appoint Complex Learning Needs Resource Base Teacher at Castle Mead School due to expansion of our Resource Base. Castle Mead School is a mainstream school with nursery and in addition to this have an expanding Resource Base for children with Complex Learning needs who have Educational Health Care plans (EHCP). We believe that children only get one chance to experience childhood, and that they have an absolute right to the highest quality of education. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a track record of shaping practice around the following principles;

Cleaner

School: River Mead 

Salary: Band B, £7.83 – £7.97 per hour (Pay award pending)

Hours: From 10 to 12.5 per week (2-2.5 per day), between 3.15 and 6.00pm

The role involves general cleaning duties necessary to provide a clean, safe and hygienic environment for teaching and other school activities. You will become part of a dedicated and hardworking team but work mainly on your own therefore must be able to use your own initiative.

We require someone who is flexible, resourceful and diligent who can successfully carry out the cleaning duties during the school day whilst the school is in operation. In addition to term time you will be required to work all Teacher Training Days and an additional 20-25 hours during the summer holiday period to assist with the deep clean and therefore be able to offer availability that fits in with the team. The successful candidate may be asked to cover staff absences, which will be paid as additional hours.

Receptionist / Clerical Assistant

School: River Mead 

Salary: Grade C – £8.09 – £8.55 per hour (Pay award pending)

Hours: 8 hours per week (Some hours to be worked on Mondays, the rest are more flexible)

We are seeking to appoint a Receptionist / Clerical Assistant. The role will involve all reception duties including greeting visitors, answering the telephone, and general clerical duties. It would be advantageous if the post holder is flexible with working hours, if need be.
