There are many clubs that children can participate in the Mead schools. We recognise that clubs benefit the children in many ways, especially Social interaction and working together with different aged children to achieving a goal.
We believe that the following principles should apply to the clubs we offer:
- Excellent Quality
- Age Related
- Wide variety provide rich and adiitional experiences
- Mindful of the ‘digital divide’ and enable access to computing for home learning inclusive.
When are our clubs?
Teachers and teaching assistants run our after school clubs on a Monday or Tuesday usually until 4.15pm – Free of charge.
Clubs vary termly and are relevant to the time of year and the needs of the children. In the past we have provided a variety of clubs including;
- Film Club
- Football Club
- Singing Club
- Maths Games Club
- Gymnastics Club
- Gardening Club
- Drama Club
- Art Club
- Tag Rugby Club
- Board Games Club
- Music / Ekulele Club
Children receive options for the following term’s clubs along with permission slips. These slips must be returned to school, before the commencemnet of any club, before the child can participate.
Clubs can also lead to representing the school at inter-schools Sports Tournaments, Music Festivals and Performances.
We also offer clubs which are run by local specialists and can be attanded for a small fee per child. These clubs vary depending on the time of year. These have included Football, Summer Multi-Sports and Pyjama Drama.
