Nursery / Early Years Teaching Assistant

Hours: Various hours available between 7.45am – 6.15pm Monday to Friday, 39 and/or 40 weeks per year (21 hours – 40 hours per week)

Start date: 1st September 2017

Grade: Grade D – £16,781 (pro rata) rising to Grade F – £18,746 (pro rata) depending on qualifications and experience

We are seeking to appoint permanent Teaching Assistants to join our Early Years team in the nursery at Castle Mead and the new nursery at The Mead School. We believe that children only get one chance to experience childhood, and that they have an absolute right to the highest quality of education. We are seeking applicants who are:

Play Leader

Hours: 10 hours per week Monday – Friday term time only (split shift of 7.45am – 8.45am and 12.30pm – 1.30pm)

Start date: 1st September 2017

Grade: Grade B (£7.83 per hour)

We have a vacancy at The Mead School for a Play Leader reporting to our Leadership Team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To assist with the day-to-day organisation of Breakfast Club & Lunchtime Play
  • To provide care and supervision of children attending the club(s) and during lunchtime and the initiation of play and other interesting and/or fund activities
  • Organise and lead safe, creative and appropriate play opportunities in accordance with the planned and published programme of activities for the club and lunchtime schedule
  • Supervise and support pupils undertaking school homework activities and assignments at the club
  • Administer basic First Aid as appropriate
  • Any other duties which reasonably fall within the role of the postholder
